Just ok for a premium...not a steal? Enjoy.

It's a good price for the miles. LS430s have high miles or low miles, most cars for sale have less than 75,000 or more than 130,000 miles. I personally placed a premium at getting a low miles one (70k) and I think it was the right decision thus far. The 04-06's seem to cost a lot more than the 01-03's. I picked up my 01 for 11.5, which was alright, but the dealer gave me a really good price on my trade in so the deal made sense.

Also, I think the premium package is a pretty neat one. I don't recall if it has the ML audio, but the cooled seats seem like they'd be pretty neat.

Also, what sort of rev's do you guys with the 6 speed pull at 55-70 mph? My 5 speed pulls 1900 rpm at 55 and like 2200 at 70ish if I recall. It seems like it'd get better milage with taller gears, but I can't complain! Though I can say I have no qualms about running an engine at high loads for good fuel efficiency. I recently drove a 2014 Altima, it has an amazing ratio spread. 1400 rpm at 60 mph. It was great. I bet the LS430 only needs to turn at 1300 rpm or so to make enough thrust for 60 mph cruising. Although you'd have to shift down for every hill...

Welcome to the forum. If is a good one that has been well maintained the price sounds reasonable - as these cars get older there tends to be quite a bit of price delta primarily based on potentially large variance based on condition, maint history, and miles.

Just drove home my 2006 LS 430 from North Canton, OH back to Ann Arbor, MI. I previously owned a 1998 LS 400. The transmission reluctantly hits that 6th gear when all of the excitement is gone(of you touching the gas pedal much). I drove 40-70 because of the snow storm, and the 6th gear RPM was at about 1800-1900 revs between 65-70. The car got 29mpg at 60mph cruise, about 28mpg at 65mph cruise, and a little over 26mpg at 70mph flat turnpike driving. As a reference to your price, we found a well maintained high mileage 2006 for $10,700 with two sets of 18 inch rims to account for snow tires. This was a private seller. The dealerships near us had 2004s with 105K and 152K for $15,000 out the door and $12,500 out the door, respectively. Ours has ~165K and runs and drives better than the 2004 with 104K. Drives much better than the not so well maintained 2004 with 152K. You just have to find osmeone who love their cars and fixes/maintains things as needed. Enjoy your car!

airchomper - At least for '04 - '06, the Premium package does not include the Mark Levinson radio, etc.
You have to go up to the next level package - Modern Luxury.
