Default Automatic Door closer failed

Anyone know how much this should cost me to fix? I think the motor is dead.

I recall the part alone was in the neighborhood of $600

Now there are fewer UL and CL than ML and others but I have heard few issues with the door closers. at 600 bucks I would be thinking boneyard for a used part. Prolly little demand so price might be pretty low.

If you would like to DIY, the job is not too difficult. There are good threads on taking the door apart enough to change out the closer. If it is only the motor within the closer assembly at fault, the part (new motor) is under $15 on flea-bay, but will require a bit of surgery with a Dremel tool or file to modify the shaft.
