Electric cutouts?
#16
Every thing is hooked up now.
I didn't post anything from yesterday because I went and deleted the resonators ;D
Unfortunately, after installing the cutout, the car wasn't loud at all! It just sounded like an extra intake. So I went today and deleted the resonators. Now it sounds more like it.
My muffler shop was amazed by the sound.
It is so deep and rumbling, personally I never thought it would sound like this.
And the cool thing is, with a push of a button, I can go from stealth mode to beast mode.
I have pics from under the car, I will add more pics of the install and some sound clips also tomorrow hopefully.
1- The first pic is the exhaust pipe that I chose to install the cutout on, I chose it right before the RIGHT MUFFLER. That is because I didn't want any vibrations in the cabin. Installing it before the muffler gave it a lower sound, less annoying and more deep.
2- Second pic shows a plastic cover on the left side, there was the same on the right but I removed it because I worried it would get hot and melt from the cutout, but it can be installed, there was just enough space for the cutout. Because this is an "Oval Low Profile Cutout", it doesn't use as much space, and it had a really snug fit under the LS430.
3- After cutting the pipe. My Muffler shop Jeff, installed a 2.5' pipe in order for the cutout to notch and weld on to it, because the stock pipe was too small. Because the cutout I got was the smallest size available, it still was a 2.5'.
4- Cutout welded right into place, facing towards the outer side of the car.
5- Cutout from different view.

1- Here is the pic of the wire being routed from the side of the fuel tank.
2- This pic shows the end of the wire of the cutout, right at the from end of the resonator. Now if you go 5 inches to the right, and remove the plastic cover, you'll find a rubber grommet hole that lands right under the right foot of the passenger, best location and easiest to reach from inside the car.
3- This pic might not be very clear, but this is the plastic cover I was talking about in pic #2, it has 4x10mm bolts, remove them and you'll have access to the grommet hole under the passenger.
4- This is where the wire goes throughout the grommet hole, into the cabin.
5- A general pic showing the carpet removed partially to get the wire to the center console.
The carpet was easy to remove, by only removing the plastic square that is next to the left foot of the passenger, which leads to the O2 sensor. After removing the plastic part, you can patiently and easily remove the carpet by pulling it out with a pry tool to get it out from underneath the center console. Then, you need to remove the plastic black big part that has the dome light facing up the feet of the passenger, this is easy to remove because there is only 4 clips. After that, the removal of the carpet requires a strong hand because it is kind of tough to bend the carpet a little.
I'll be posting a video clip tomorrow hopefully.

I live in Oregon, and it's been very humid and cold here. Smoke is actually relatively normal in cold weather, most cars smoke a little. It's actually steam created by hot, moist gasses from the combustion process, and from the water that builds up in parts of the exhaust pipe.
