I disagree that the quality is there. Maybe for an American made car but the fit and finish are definitely not the same. They have improved over the years but it is not not on the same level as a Lexus.
A lot of articles say the same thing:

While Cadillac's full-size 2010 DTS luxury sedan has some good qualities, it's outclassed overall by European and Japanese competitors.
Pros
Roomy and quiet interior, cushy ride, huge trunk.
Cons
Unimpressive performance and handling, hard to park, so-so crash test scores, some interior materials look/feel sub-par, lacking some modern technology features.

its sad that cadillac cant put an entire package together, the last fwd sts, was the best unibody made up to that point, crazy good ride quality with the magnetorheological shocks most important damper advancement to date, the northstar is a badass 4 cam screamer until it blows up, why they just didnt keep it simple with a fwd ls1 is beyond me. the interior materials and fit and finish is essentially chevy with some lipstick on.

But ya the old ones with the Northstars where prety bleak. My dad has an 05 dts uses a quart every 1000-1500 miles. When I get in his with like 60 k and mine with 90 k it is like night and day. Heated steering wheel all the bells but just sloppy handling, lumbering suspension the inside creature comforts are nice though and it has a real nice Infiniti like clock and I keep telling him to sell it but it is worth nothing.

If you really really have to punish yourself with a DTS, don't ditch your 430. You can get one stupid cheap on craigslist. Plenty of 03-06 models for around 2 grand with around 135k on them. You might as well take the money and toss it right out the window but you might get a few months out of one before it blows up. Just enough time for you to see what a horrible turd it is lol

The Cadillac DTS came out in 2006 [sold in 07] as the first year.
What you keep calling a DTS is actually the DHS or 'deville' depending on the year it was sold...

In the US pre-2006, the DTS (formerly DeVille Touring Sedan) was a top trim level for the DeVille. GM restyled the car for the 2006 model year and named it DTS.

Seriously dude, shut up. Read up on which model you're referring to before you keep squawking like a know-it-all... because you don't.

But in all seriousness you can get a DTS deville now for like 2 grand. Don't get me wrong there a blast to drive and very comfy cushy rides, they just don't last. They all blow up around 150k. Can anyone show me a 2000s deville with 250k miles on it on original everything under the hood? If you can, post a pic, and I'll shut up.
