Tire Pressure Monitor question
Hey guys I'm sure this has already been discussed but I didn't find exactly what I was looking for... I just had a set of aftermarket 18" wheels installed on my CL LS430. I took off a pair of 17" factory chrome rims that were peeling when I bought the car. My tire guy asked me if the car had TPM sensors and I assumed that it did. Well when I picked the car up my tire guy told me that there were no sensors in the rims, so he didn't put them in the new wheels. What is odd, is that the car is not indicating any sort of tire pressure issue (which there isn't but the car doesn't know that). Can somebody give me an idea as to why I don't have a warning indicator regarding tire pressure? I have the TPM reset button under my dash so I know that the car is supposed to have TPM.... Does that car use suspension indicators to measure tire pressure?

Not really a stupid question at all. I think it is a good thing to understand something of how the various LS430 systems work. This topic has been discussed in fora threads before, but it may not be an easy search.
Also, the owner's manual does not give any hint of how it works.

I think you could benefit by reading the owners manual. If you don't have one, you can get one from mylexus website mailed to to free of charge.
