Re attaching the rear sun shade screen
When I bought my 2001 ls several months ago, one thing that did not work was the rear sun shade screen. I would push the button and just the frame would come up in a goofed up way, so I though I needed a new sun shade, mine was gone.Well they don't sell sun shades alone you have to buy the whole deal 1800.00 from Lexus. As it turns out mine was still there all rapped down where the whole mechanism is located. You can reach down and pull the sun shade out, put a tool or something on it too keep it from retracting.I decided to remove the upper frame member that holds the sun shade, there are 2 screws 1 on each side [window side ] I used a Phillips bit ,there's not much room. once the top frame is off ,take one of the end caps off There is a channel that runs along this piece and what you want to do is insert the sun shades top into this channel, the shade is looped at the top, and run a piece of nylon filament through the loop in the channel. i used weed whacker string .080 and it worked great. Once done replace end cap and attach upper frame piece to arms. Took me all of a half hour once i new what i was doing. Cost 3 ft. of weed whacker string

Mine isn't working either. When I push the button, it sounds like it is trying to work for a second, but nothing happens. I push it again and it sounds like it is retracting for a second and then stops. Almost like it is stuck or something.
