Can you post pics of these lights? I think all mine work but now I'm curious...

He's referring to the parking lamp bulbs. You can verify the functionality of both your front parking and side marker lights by turning your headlamp switch to the first position after off. The sidemarker will illuminate the amber area on the sides of the headlamp assembly while the parking lamp will illuminate in the same section the high beam bulb is in, directly above it.

I bought her on Monday from a guy on Craigslist for $1400. Beautiful paint, except the rear bumper and a fantastic interior. Also every single warning light is on, VSC, ABS, Check Engine and Brakes, bald tires, shot struts and shocks and the trunk computer/fuse box was cracked. The gas flap has to be opened manually and the trunk with the key. It has the Lexus Link alert that comes on every time you turn the key one. Oh, the drivers window doesn't go up on its own. I'm sure there's a few more.

I'm in love. I'm going to bring her back.

It came with a used computer/fuse box the guy had bought off eBay and a couple of brand new hood props (oh yeah, those are dead too). I put in the computer/fuse box today and that fixed fuel gauge and the fuel flap and probably 20 other things in the back of the car.

It's been a good day. Tomorrow I'm taking a crack at the Check engine light.

Welcome aboard Buzzonga. What's the mileage on her?
Time to read some codes and probably swap out some O2 sensors and maybe a couple of others.

Thank you Big Boomer, I'm glad to be here. She only has 134,000 on her! I ran a Carfax and it verifies it. No accidents or anything either a nice and clean one.
The code points pretty squarely to the right side variable valve timing solenoid so I'll be changing that out today. Fingers crossed!

Engine codes for the check engine light

Got my timing belt done yesterday by a local Toyota/Lexus specialist shop. They are called Toyowork if anybody in Phoenix, AZ is looking a great shop.
http://www.toyoworks.com/
They used the Aisin kit that I got from RockAuto.

Also got my serpentine belt, oil change, transmission drain and fill and rear diff oil change.

I love seeing people doing routine maintenance on their cars. It's steady attention to detail that will keep these cars in service for years to come!

I replaced the Trunk Release Switch on my 06 today and even took the time to record a quick instructional video regarding the process.

PN is 84945-50010, it's also used on some years of Avalon so if you buy it from a Toyota dealer or parts supplier it should be cheaper. Prices seem to range from $32 to $84 before shipping, depending on where you order it. Amayama has it for $32 but it's almost $20 to ship it from Japan while a stateside Toyota website has it for $57, a stateside Lexus site wants $64, and another Lexus site wants $84.
