What did you do to your LS430 today?

That’s awesome. It’s the exact light I need to replace on my 06’. Funny i have the light in cart on EBay from @Bell Lexus too! 😂😂
I replaced my trunk mount left tail light (2004-LED) and the tiny shift indicator bulb inside the center console. Bulb was $4 and the light I got from @Bell Lexus Bell Lexus for $158 with free shipping. $215 at the dealer. Love Bell. Both jobs were pretty easy, especially the tail light. I like all buttons and lights working, and I always feel good when I save a little dough on labor, get myself confident and pull it off. Both jobs went well, under 1 hour for both.

Not sure how I made it home. Driving to work I heard a noise and felt a vibration consistent with a tire going flat, so I pulled off the freeway to check and they all looked fine. Checked pressure on all four and they were fine. Coming home from work, I heard a noise at 40+mph that was consistent with road noise but it went away. I peaked under the car when I got home and this is what I saw.
Tires are 5 years old, weekly pressure checks, and only 22k on them. Not sure what caused this failure but this will be my last purchase of Falken tires. Headed to Discount Tire now and I think I'm going to go with Continentals this time around.
Check your tires folks. Sometimes on my late commutes home I like to let my car stretch her legs a bit... would have been really scary had this tire let go while that was happening.

Falken is definitely in the Ban list for me. I recommend Kumho or Michelin as a replacement.

WOW! Glad it didn't cause any further issues down the road. Do you recall seeing "low tire" warning on the dashboard some time ago? Few years ago, I had similar experience with Falken tires when the broken belt inside them were causing the car to indicate the problem with speed at each corner.

My LS doesn't have TPMS, though I check pressure once a week religiously. Got a set of Continentals fitted at Discount Tire as they didn't have any Michelins in stock and I really wasn't in a position to wait a few days or try and drive to a farther out location. We will see how they do...
Neither LS has any sensors to check tire pressure directly. The data comes from ABS speed sensors, which measures the rotation differences, and if any occurs, triggers “low tire warning”.

Replaced both rear wheel bearings at 175k miles. First one took about 1.5 hours, second one 30 mins. I did both fronts not very long ago. Doing the rears fixed a high speed vibration and brake pulsation I've had for a while.

@NCGUY , you are speaking my language! In 2014 I bought an 03 and it was a great car, but I bought it from a dealer, took a loan, and it had been painted in one part kind of poorly. In 2019, 4 months before the pandemic, I bought my gem, 2004, cash from original owner, 78k for $10.5k cash. He had covered all the floors and seats since day 2. I ripped all that off of there and it reeked new, and still does. I was so excited, and I did the same thing, found an online bookseller who had the original hard, cardstock sales brochure. $10, made me so happy. Good for you. Enjoy. It makes me realize I am driving a nearly $70k car in 2004 ($90k+ modern equivalent). I couldn't afford that then or now.
