Taught my girlfriend to drive in my good ol' '05 LS430, and she got her license today. Didn't even crash the car doing it. She's very short and I'm very tall and it takes about an hour and a half for the driver's seat to get repositioned!

Replaced my front passenger 6 x 5 with a Skar audio unit. Fairly easy install but you do have to trim down the factory speaker bracket tabs for the speaker to fit.

Also added the USA SPEC BT45-TOY unit. Now I can stream audio! Maintaining factory Bluetooth for hands free calling. I initially wanted a non-nav version but so glad I got the NAV unit, more so for the Mark Levinson, which sounds amazing and I really like the touch screen lol

BTW I fished the cable for the BT45 through the cabin filter slot and it sits perfect! I'll take a pic later. I know some guys find a spot behind the radio but not a big fan of that because the unit is no longer easily accessible. With the unit in the glove box you have easy access to the unit and you can run USB and AUX easily.

I learned how to compress springs to replace my KYB excel-G struts with some I bought off of myLparts. Definitely has been a learning experience! I did the upper/control arms, and the ball joints on the front as well.

How's the ride now with OEM struts rather than excel-G? Are the arms and LBJ OEM too?

Hi All,

Just purchased this hand made Hazelwood gearshift **** from a guy named Murat in Turkey. Really a beautiful piece that I can't wait to install.

I havent gotten that far yet! Im trying to go slow and steady and Im unable to find some solid resources for aligning the top strut mount which leads me to recompressing to get the strut aligned with the LCA. The control arms i got were aftermarket but I plan to go OEM after I get everything functional. (Upper and Lowers are Mevotech supreme) I will either reply here or send a personal message to let you know how the first drive goes after the tires and alignment!

Edit: I wanted to reply to LatinLS430 and mistakenly used quick reply rather than quote. If there is a way to correctly edit this post please let me know and I will try to fix it.

You'll find both hoses hardened, brittle, and tough to separate. If you're only suctioning out fluid from the reservoir there's still a fair amount of fluid in the larger hose going to the reservoir.
That same larger hose will be destroyed by the time it's removed so *buy a new one in advance. There's not much room under it for a spill cup so a handful of rags is your best bet.
The smaller return hose is integrated into the factory return hard line but it can be removed and replaced. You can save yourself both time and headache by simply cutting both the old hoses.
Buy new hose clamps in advance as well the new design clamps are far superior to what was installed at the factory. 90467-21010

*Both hoses are of course metric so a parts store equivalent is not a proper fit. The large hose to the pump is about $60 at Bell L or $10 at Rockauto- https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...t=7323&jsn=389
You'll have to live with the inch equivalent from a parts store for the smaller hose. It will be tough to squeeze over the barb on the hard line so attach it to the plastic reservoir before installation.
@bradland While it is still fresh in memory, could you please give the specs for the smaller hose, metric and inch equivalent. I am gathering parts to do this job. Thanks.

Looks awesome! Same color and wheels as mine. I just don't have the cool tinted windows.

The ride quality is unlike any car I've ever ridden in or driven before! I knew coming from a blown strut that no matter what it'd be an improvement but WOW! The LBJ's are oem on both sides and don't need to be replaced yet. MyLparts has a really good price on them too. I finally got her all back together and aligned, moving on to the next repair. There really is a wealth of information on these forums and im glad to be a part of it!

Removed front bumper cover to replace 2 parking sensors.

This sensor lost the outer portion of the sensor.

The second sensor was hanging on by the wiring. This one still worked but its getting replaced.

Removed the headlights to refinish them with the Sylvania restoration kit. As you can see the headlights are in great shape but I want to see if I can make them that much better plus get the UV protection added. I'll do a before and after comparison once done.
