What did you do to your LS430 today?

I wish..... The front bumper is faded and the area around the grille has it's share of rock pits.... I got a similar quote of around $950 or so to paint the front.... Not ready to invest that right now.... Rest of the car is not too bad; had it clay barred and buffed up a couple years back.

I tried to wet sand the plastic door caps to get the excess glue off. Not a good idea! (the good news is I noticed just now in direct sunlight, the pearl sparkle is there)
Again, one of those things that nobody would ever notice, but I do. Kinda gives me an idea why in general, bodywork isn't 100%....

The grill is original. All I did was a serious cleaning and then a paint job with rattle cans listed above. You may well find a wrecker that has the plastic grill for far less than new. Clean and paint... Like new!
Jay,
The hood only idea. That I will try! Thanks!
Do you leave yours on and wash it anyway? I can see taking if off every now and then but if the lower is as intense as the instructions lead to believe...
Thanks again

Nice place, just hell on cars and equipment. Plastic rusts here, so says the locals...
That is why I'm into vehicles like the ls430. You can get one for so little and get so much for your $. But, when it dissolves, I'll find another one in five or so years.
Thanks for the kind words John,

I bought a double din adapter (SLA-24A)for a 2004 Lexus Ls w/navigation. Now I have a jensen 7022. I'd love to know how to play video on both screens while driving state to state.I tap the parking brake just enough for the double din to play because of the safety feature but, as long as the parking brake light is blinking the navigation screen at the top play stops. Any suggestions

Hesitation issue - Transmission shop says overhaul
I have 2005 LS430 and about 200,000 miles. There has been this irritating hesitation intermittent for last year or so and now, engine light is triggered and took to transmission shop. They recommended overhaul transmission for $3500. Based on friend's recommendation, took it to another transmission shop and he is looking at the TPS as the culprit. We bought car used and my wife drives it 90% and did not realize/forgot about the manual driving option on (S) rather than D. You change gears but with no clutch. When we did this switch, the hesitation went away and so transmission should be OK. Will verify later whether it is TPS but having fun driving the clutchless manual driving.

I replaced the front end links with parts from Moog, put LED's in the side mirrors and put in one of those cheap Bluetooth FM modulator that works surprisingly well.

You put LED bulbs in the puddle lights under the mirror that shine the ground? I am curious, does it still smoothly fade in when you click the unlock button? Or does it come on instantaneously?

From a while back I had a Mothers Headlight Restoration kit. It comes with a sponge ball and drill bit fixture and a squeeze bottle of product. The bottle had separated and even shaking it up did not bring it back. My wife acquired this Norwex Cleaning Paste which I used with the sponge fixture and handheld cordless drill on the low speed..... It really worked a lot better than I expected.
BTW, always tape off around the headlight with painters tape to protect the paint as these products are abrasive by design.
Buffed up with a detailer cloth and then applied a coat of Klasse poly sealant to provide some extra protection......
