went to get my front tires rebalanced after rotating them and had them look at the front rotors as well as i'm having vibrations on downhill braking...
balance was ok but rotors couldn't be turned, "heat spots" on them they said
ordered a full brand new set of rotors/pads/shims
Bought a ES330 to keep my LS430 company. 2005, one owner, all service records, 129K on it, and only needs a few small items addressed. Not bad for $3500.
NICE! I almost bought one of these before I got my LS. How is it compared to the LS?
Yup.
Just another day in the life of a Lexus owner.
truth. I bought all new OEM brake stuff and was surprised the shims cost so much. My car currently has aftermarket pads and rotors on it so of course they toss the factory shims. If only people know how expensive they were! I actually found a set of OEM front and rear shim kits from a parts place local to me selling on ebay.

Not as quiet, not at smooth, not as fast. Still, it's not a bad car and you can still feel the Lexus refinement through out. Only thing that really hampers it are the Quick Struts the previous owner used... they are really awful. For what they paid for them and how bad they ride after only a few years on TX roads... ugh, just awful.
replaced my warped front rotors with new OEM rotors and pads
40 minutes start to finish. if it wasn't for the stupid lock nuts i'd probably have it done in 30...
