you wanted something as close to the 430 experience as you could get, what would it be?

I don't believe that is possible. There isn't a car made that serves the driver the way the LS430 does to date.

I'm not suggesting there aren't better cars. I simply don't need to think about it based upon user experience.

When you reduce the ownership experience of an LS430 to dollar figures, there is not a car that measures up to the constellation of "goodness" that the LS provides.

Look at an LS vs. an E class, or a 5 series. Look at an A6. Or whatever comparable vehicle you can think of.

Then factor in service, repair or replacement of components.

My math leads back to the LS as the answer.

Sorry... nothing out there that I'm looking for... when I can get a $65k car for around $14k or so with less than 100k miles, that's been serviced and maintained the way most of these owners take care of their cars, and has such quality and reliability built into it from the beginning...not mention a tremendously supportive forum like this one... can't replace it in my mind....
But... would love to have a little sport S2000 for those fun trips... but can't replace the 430...

As others have mention, I do not think there is a similar car that will provide the same experience as owning a ls430 (maintenance, headache free ownership experience, ride quality, etc).

The only cars I have considered are the infiniti m35/45, 2gen gs300/430 NA-T or 1/2jz swap, cls55/s55 amg. You can easily tell im looking for a bit more power and "driving fun factor", but the price range of these cars are definitely all across the board. In the end, it really depends on what you are looking for.

I agree with you about the LS430 and the S2000 is a great little car...

LS460 F-sport. Also, LS is in 7-series class not 5.

Considering replacing mine, with a Tesla S model.
Absolutely no comparison to the comforts found in the 430. The Tesla is bare bones, and not at all comfortable.
My 430 has cost me $25K in maintenance, and $75K +/- in fuel (340K miles)

My next car after the ls430 will probably be a 09+ Cadillac cts v with recaro package and 6 speed manual a few years from now. Or a grand Cherokee srt 8.

I'd love the newer twin turbo e63 Benz or Porsche panamera awd once they come down in price but maintenance and parts cost will probably scare me away.

I would have to say an S Class Mercedes. It wouldn't be as cheap, quiet and trouble-free but it would be loads more fun to drive - sorry, the LS430 is the world's best passenger's car, not a driver's car.

Tough question. I'd get an 08+ GS460.
