Rear sunshade falling down

Rear sunshade falling down
So I just bought an '04 LS. Third Lexus, but first foray out of ES land. The actual fabric of the rear sunshade seems to be falling out of the top bar, and there is about a foot of white plastic piping that has come out of the opposite side of the shade. How the previous owner managed this, I have no idea.
So the question is, is there any way to re-run the piping and slide the fabric screen into the top bar without removing the whole mechanism? I'd really rather not remove the seats, package tray, etc. when I don't actually need access to the sunshade motor, etc.
Hopefully this description makes sense. Please ask for clarification if necessary. Thanks in advance!

Same thing happened to me, here's what I did. There are 2 small screws that hold the top metal bar to the ones that go up and down, you can see them through the back window. I used a
Phillps bit.
Once the bar is off 2 more screws hold the end pieces on. Remove these. Now you need to pull the sun screen up and put something heavy to hold it from retracting.Instead of the piping i used weed eater string . The top of the sunshade is fitted into the top bar and the piping fed through where the end cap was pulled off. Now install end caps and top bar.
