Totaled my Ls430

Since you were rear ended, you should contemplate getting diminished value on top of any settlement amount. You would get this from the driver's insurance company that hit you.

I've since replCed it. My first LS430 had the dark gray (black) interior. I always thought this color looked best. This LS 430 I just bought ($8600) before taxes and fees, has the light gray interior. I thought I'd hate it.........I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!!!! Especially sitting in the rear looking forward it has such a princely, bejeweled elegance to it. this is now my new favorite interior color.

Ok so I totaled my 2004 LS 430. Someone rear ended me. Now I'm trying to sell the car. The interior was literally in show room condition. Does anyone know companies that would be willing to buy it? I'm trying to get more than what the insurance is saying the salvage value is, which is about $7700. Thanks.

Not sure on how it works with a total loss. How much is the insurance company giving you? When my girlfriend's G35 was rear ended, it cost $13,000 to get repaired and then the insurance company gave her an additional $8,000 for diminished value (difference between the retail value before and after the accident).

Ok. They gave you $18,000 for your car. You are fine. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Diminished value comes into play when you are keeping your car and getting it repaired. It's additional compensation for the reduced value of your car if you wanted to sell it after the accident. This doesn't apply to you. How many miles were on your car?

I apologize for that. In the car insurance world, "salvage value" has its own definition and is used in calculating settlement options. For those who are familiar with the term, it is self explanatory. Prior to my accident, I wasn't familiar with it myself.

say take the 15k, 18000 and a 3k trip to vegas, have a blast
18 is a good number to replace the vehicle, i can't believe i am going to say this but i will do it not knowing about realibiltiy... i would take the 18 and i just saw the 15 genesis i would put the 18 down and you own a 15 genesis with the v-6 for around 39500. tremendous value for what i saw, also a bump of around 10% in gas savings
i am starting to think the days of our tremendous engineering feat to get us to around 20mpg days are over based on gas costs moving forward. obviously for low mileage doesn't apply but i put on 30k a year
cheers hope your feeling good
