Front lower control arms

Front lower control arms
My 04 LS has 120k miles and the front left lower control arm smaller bushing is cracked and making noises. I replaced the bigger lca bushings already. It doesn't look like the smaller bushing is replaceable by itself. How long do these front lca last on the ls? Has anyone replaced their front lca before and do you recommend replacing them in pair meaning front left and right?

Anything suspension related should always be replaced in pairs. As far as replacing them I have no experience on my LS but I am willing to bet it is the same as any other double wishbone setup. One very large bolt that goes through the bushing. Remove the old and press in the new. A little bit of grease will help when pushing it through the rubber pieces. Just be sure you use a grease that's safe on the rubber.

My front lower control arm bushings have been cracked for the last four years. . I get an occasional front end clunk during hard steering while leaving a parking space. My tires are wearing fine and there is no play in the steering. My independent shop told me there is no rush to replace.

The bushing assembly is $88 with CL discount at Sewell but that would still leave the bushing in the LCA. They can be pressed in with a vice. They're usually two pieces.

My 02 just recently started making the same sounds described here. My cousins 02 has had this problem for years and could never pinpoint the problem. I think I know where to start now....
