Trying to find out how to disconnect the auto tilt away function on the 03 LS430 before my motors fail. I've used the search, but can't find it.

It's an interface to connect a computer to your car, and programme stuff yourself, instead of having the dealer code them for you.

Which is the only other option you have basically.

So next time you're in the shop for anything, let them know and they'll take care of it.

I had my local Toyota dealer hook up the laptop and reprogram it for me (free). Closest Lexus dealer is 100 miles away.

search for the Techstream thread. Coincidentally, I finally got around to trying it on my 02 LS yesterday. Ordered a couple months ago. It worked just fine and I was able to disable the auto tilt/retraction feature in about 5 minutes. I guess if you can get your dealer to do it for free that would be preferable but something tells me Rockville Lexus would charge 50$ for this favor. Techstream cost 29$ delivered. It also worked fine with my 08 Sienna. It provides great diagnostics of literally every system on your car...invaluable as these things age.
