Not sure exactly what this is called but, it's the little pocket on the drivers door that opens up. It looks like one of the tabs that hold it on broke off. I attached pictures from my phone so you know what I mean.
This is a minor rattle in the car that I would like to stop if possible. So the question is, can I fix this or does the whole door panel need to be replaced ?
If it can be fixed and I assume I have to pull the panel off, how do I do so with out damaging anything ?
Thanks for any help you can give in solving this issue in my LS...
I was thinking about just going to my local Home Depot, get a about a 1" long screw as thick as the pin was, and drill from the outside and screw in on the inside once it's in place, If I can get the exact size thickness in the screw, it should hold it in with out shaking...
This could avoid me from having to open the whole door to fix this...
And I didn't notice on how dirty that door is....gota take care of that this weekend !!!
On my '05 taking the entire plastic panel off the door is not really too involved. There are 3 screws along the bottom, 2 screws on the face of the plastic (one of those is under plastic cover in the chrome door latch), and one is in the air duct up near the top hinge. You will also need to pry up on the window switch panel to get it out. You might just need to take the screws along the bottom off in order to have a peek up there to see what that attachment is made of
