Default Decided to go with Pirelli P7 for my LS430

After reading a ***** ton of reviews.....and threads on this forum.......I have decided to install Pirelli Centurato Sp? p7 all season plus tires on my LS430. The guys at Tire Rack put me over the top and got me off the fence.......I explained I wanted zero road noise and a comfortable ride......and they said Pirelli was the way to go. Yes they liked the MXV4 as well......but since I was adamant about a quiet ride they said Pirelli. $146 each......70k warranty......not bad.....I get them installed Tuesday.....the reason that I post this is to help others with their future decision. I will post how I like them once installed. Take the time to read the 200 plus reviews on the tire and u will see nobody says anything negative about them. Almost to good to be true. Fingers crossed.

Just my opinion.... Michelin is the best! Pirelli is good but not better than Michelin. I only have experience with sport tires though. I had pirelli pzero before and then switched to Michelin super sports. Michelin were better in ride, noise, and traction as well. For noise I always thought all seasons were louder than summer tires as the compound is harder, I'm not sure though. But hopefully the pirellis you got are as good as they say.

Ya it was a tough decision........dont get me wrong......I love Michelin tires....And there are certainly many people on this forum that support the MXV4.......Im sure its an awesome tire but what has thrown me is all of the negative reviews the MXV4 got on Tire Rack........I believe most negative reviews come from user error.....improper air pressure....out of alignment...etc........but read 30 reviews on each tire and u start to see a theme.....read over 100 as I did about the Pirellis.......maybe 2 people had a bad experience....and even then the guy said he loved the tire but he burned through them too fast.......

so for the record.......I love Michelin tires......the negative reviews regarding...... fast wear, road noise, and highest price made me look elsewhere.

My dealer has a 30 day warranty.....I can exchange for any other tire within 30 days...some red tape involved of course........but if this happens I will then try Michelin.

In addition.......I wonder why nobody has mentioned the #1 rated Michelin Premier A/S? Wouldnt that be even better then the MXV4???

I bought a set of the p7 all season plus tires for mine too. My wheels don't get here until monday though, so I have yet to try them out. They scored higher for quietness than the michelins.

Pirelli makes a good tire. Michelin is the best though. Consumer reports ranks them at the top of the list constantly and they way the perform on the LS430 is fantastic.

Default michelin unsurpassed

in longeivty ride quality, efficiency for gas mileage and wet traction with primacy mxv4,
the premier a/s is the best tire out there
if you take gas mileage savings of a quarter mile to a gallon the difference between premier a/s and pirellli will be the same
safe driving

You Michelin lovers dont even waver a tiny bit! A strong point for the Michelin's is how they perform on the LS430 specifically. Its a heavy car and cant be compared to the reviews of someone using MXV4 on a compact car. Just to jab the Michelin guys a bit.....the Pirellis were rated higher.....yes higher then the MXV4s!!!!! It is a 70k mile warranty tire.....it is known to be quieter then the MXV4.... and its a low resistance tire that will save money on gas more so then MXV4.......other all season characteristics are equal.......That being said I will be this forums guinea pig for the Pirellis.......along with " notwealthy " great user name for a 430 owner.....im not wealthy either .........shoot if the Pirellis dont work out.....I will go with the highest rated tire....Mich Premier A/S

I think we may be talking soon.... My girlfriends GS needs some tires and I wouldn't mind replacing the booboo ones that came on my LS.

consumer reports are the same clowns that rated Bear deck stain #1 and said it would last like 5 years on a deck......thats the last time I trusted Consumer reports. There are over 200 reviews from actual people who actually purchased and drive on the Pirellis..... I take all reviews for what they are......but the pros at Tire Rack and 200 consumers say its a good tire......Im gunna assume its a good tire.....I will be clear again and say that I love Michelin's....so I am not going against what u guys are saying.....Apparently the Pirellis are EXTREMELY quiet......and thats what I want.

As for the wear/life of the tire......well the warranty is for 70k......If I got 45k I would be happy...If I get less I will use pro rated warranty and go from there. Note....not trying to get ya all worked up...but I read numerous reviews about the MXV4 wearing out way too quickly.......not sure what 68 and 70 ratings are on Consumer Reports....I dont subscribe....wouldnt a 68 score be pretty darn good if the MXV4 is a 70?

Hey Tire Rack guy........whats your opinion of the Pirelli Cent. P7 All Season Plus?

Looking forward to your review on the Pirelli's . Hope they work out great as its always nice to have some more choice for tires on the LS430. Certain models of cars seem to like certain types of tires. It would be great if the Pirelli's do really well on the lS430. Definitely very nice of you to share the info and personal experience with the forum going forward.

I am a long time subscriber to consumer reports but I read their reviews with a grain of salt. In general they are very accurate but sometime they get it badly wrong. I have been disappointed with a few CR recommended products in the past so I always try to look at multiple sources of reviews not just CR.
