Default Oem shocks vs sport

Hey everyone, recently bought a used ls430 2001 150k miles. The shocks have probably never been changed since the ride seems pretty stiff. Would you guys suggest I just get the original oem coilovers or go with something like the Megan sport ones. Price seems about the same, more or less? I wouldn't mind lowering it a bit for a more sporty look that you get with the Megan ones. I do live in NYC and the streets are pretty bad though. I'm 26 years old and wouldn't mind better handling though but still would like a luxury soft ride since the roads are so bad. What would you guys suggest? Appreciate any feedback.

once u install coils, you will lose the soft ride. i sometimes debate on removing my air susp for regular suspension during this time.
