The strip that runs the length of the roof on the driver's side came off my LS in my favorite carwash. I didn't notice it til I got back to work, but luckily the place is nearby and they were able to find it inside. No damage, and I see how it goes back on, but are there any tips to keep it from happening again? I can't stop using this particular carwash because it is totally touchless, uses hot water, and I need the Bottom Blaster in winter
Check the clips to see if any are damaged or worn. Thats the only thing holding them in. If any are damaged or worn they wont hold securely and they will come out again.
"This product is also not designed to replace your OEM roof molding, this trim is designed to sit right on top of your existing factory molding and enhance the current look." ------- so as nice as that would look on my black LS, it would fly off too unless I make sure the OE molding is secure beneath it.
My clips look fine but clearly something is worn or it would've stayed on in the first place LOL
I want less chrome not more- but mine are beginning to peel too...what's the point of the OEM trim pieces anyway- I always get little leaves stuck there in the seam...
Mine started to come off. My mom and pop collision shop used some adhesive in the channels that the clips fit into. That was a few years ago and it has held wonderfully.
