Last night i finally got a chance to take my '01 LS430
to the limiter, it was amazing! too bad the limiter
didn't let me go any faster

I've reached 156Mph or so on my friends 96. Not so brave enough to do that kind of thing now.

i was pretty careful about it...it was on a highway around 12am on Long island...once i went through to scope it out for any cops, then came back around to do the run. I'm finally replacing the car and after 4 years I just had to try it. I was very impressed too, it reached the limiter so quickly!
The ride was excellent, very smooth and quiet- i have the sport suspension and handling was incredible as well. Too bad for the limiter, because i could def feel the engine had more power to give..

I felt like this car was made for the autobahn, I think it has enough power to run with a 540i.

btw-This was done on Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires, i prob would never recommend on stock tires.

oh and about the gas- I was trying to run as light as possible-I thought i had enough but the light came on during the actual run itself...I filled it up right after...60 dollars

what it must be like on the Autobahn. We stock the the Michelin Pilot AS and they work well on the SC430's, GS430's with 18" wheels. What are you replacing your LS with?

Glad to hear that the car did so well. Is anyone else struck by the stupidity of taking a picture while driving almost 80mph over the speed limit on public roads in the dark? If there was a passenger photographer, even more stupid for pulling such a dumb stunt with another potential victim.

I have never gone that fast 100 is fast enough for me...which highway was this, Long Island Expressway? It can't be the Northern or Southern as they are really curvey at many points.

I topped off my LS430 on the way to Vegas couple months ago.....but my car was slammed with high performance low profile tires..........it was fun BUT.......I don't think this car can take on 540i

yeah this was done on the northern state parkway way out east-
On that one 1 mile straight away stretch right before the highway ends.
MeanLex is correct, there are many places other than the LIE. Doing
it on the LIE is prob not a great idea b/c too risky getting caught
and there is always a couple of cars here and there regardless of time.
I dont know about on the autobahn, but you can not certainly not risk
having any other car remotely near you at a speed that high.
Most of the drivers here do not always know what theyre doing and you can
not trust anyone.

As for the safety issues, It may appear wreckless, but this was a totally controlled,
well planned run. As for one hand on the wheel, how else was i supposed to do it?
Plus you guys are acting like this is a camry. It was solid as ever and not a moment
where i thought i was going to even remotely lose control.

And as for replacing it...I think i may just wait until next fall and see what the '07 LS
is like.

As for the 540i, i dont know, i think it would be neck and neck, especially if the guy
had AUTO...I'm always up for a good stop light challenge and it's rarely let me down.
Maybe not the new '06 but the old 330i could not keep up with it.

ive taken my 91 and 98 up to about 120 both on stock wheels on the new jersey turnpike

I've taken my car up to 157 and it felt like 100 with low pros and suspension mods. I think our cars are limited to 157 because I felt the car buck like it was out of gas.
BTW I was racing a GS4 and a 330ci and the GS was in front by about a car lenth, and the 330 was nowhere to be found. This was at 3am in the morning on a 5 lane hwy that no one uses late at night.
