Default Rear window screen

I just reattached the rear window screen on my 2005 Lexus LS 430. I used a size .95 weed trimmer line. It was very simple. Raise the frame and leave it up. You might have to help it because it will come up at an angle. Fish the screen out and extended it fully. Lay something on it so that it wouldn't retract. Take the top bar off by removing a screw on each end. You will need a short cross point screw driver. Insert a little of the trimmer line into the slot at the end of the screen. Insert the screen into the grove in the top bar that you removed. (I worked from left to right) Slowly push the trimmer line through. This will secure the screen to the top bracket. When you see the line coming out the other side stop and trim off about 3/4" of line on each end of the line. Push the corners of the screen into the grove and make sure that they slid into the anchors attached to the top bar. (Use a flash light and you will be able to see how they need to attach. Reattach the top bar with a screw on each side.

Good luck. It took me about 45 minutes.

First I want to say thank you to axson for the awesome idea.

The weed whacker line worked liked a charm.

Materials:

.095 weed whacker line
Philips head screwdriver (magnetic)
Scissors

Steps:

1. Turn key to on position
2. Extend rear shade
3. Remove the two screws( gold color) from the backside of the black bar connected to the actuators.
4. Insert sun screen into slot of the black bar.
5. Insert weed whacker lie into sun screen while its in the slot in the black bar.
6. Leave about 1/2 inch on each end of the sun screen.
7. Re-install black bar into the actuators.
8. Time to stunt on b**ches

Remove the two screws from the ends of the black bar.

Insert net into black like so, then push in the weed whacker line.

Stuntin Priceless

That actually looks very good, and an excellent write up.

Thanks for taking the time putting this up BustNheads, I hope I don't need it in the future though :P

But definitely helpful for lots of folks.
