Default 2002 LS 430 in Sacramento Area - 101K $8300

Hi everyone....not sure if I should be posting these here, but i see questions about how much you should pay for a used LS 430 and saw this in Sacramento Craigslist today. It is located in Chico which is 2-3 hours north of Sacramento:

I texted with the owner and asked him if he was original owner and if timing belt/water pump were replaced.

He said that the timing belt and waterpump were replaced by original owner. He is the 2nd owner and said:

"I had it for 2 months, the reason because I am going back home this coming May. I am a Lexus person. I was going to ship the car with me but it will take about 5 months to finish paperwork of it. It's a clean title, clean car fax, no mechanical issues, you can come and check it any time.

I didn't check anything but VIN is JTHBN30F920068296

Why would it take 5 months for paper work? That is my first red flag. Price is fine and pictures show it as a clean car. I would get on the Lexus site with the serial number and check all the services to see if it is truly a 2 owner car and well maintained. Get the car fax as another tool. Craigs list can be a scary place and buyer beware. Let us know how you make out?

Watch out for scams on Craisgs list. Never never never send any money and don't purchase anything without seeing it first. Even then, it's best to do major transactions at banks to verify funds.

I'd pass on that 02' unless you had it checked out top to bottom by a pro.

Scammers do this all the time... they are not going anywhere. They are just flipping the car.
If th car is not titled/registered to the current owner, then it's a flipper and he has no vested interest or knowledge of th car. Only trying to make some money. I'd avoid this.
