The rod broke on my 07 GS450h, I cant believe they made the rod out of plastic. smh

Apparantly witht he broken rod the top part droops lower than the lower part this caauses the car to think the front is way too high or the rear way too low so it adjusts the headlights down to max position.

I previously had a high driver side low beam that I cant reach the adjkustment ****, so I am going to raise the passenger side a little higher and adjust the bracket a little shorter than stock.

I ordered an adjustable one from Ebay.

Some additional tips and variation to the solution. This is mentioned on some Prius threads.

1. You don't need to remove the wheel. You can slide underneath and remove the rear sensor. (Unless you are too big to slide under.)
2. Not removing wheel make sure that the car is level and helps adjusting it.
3. Before replacing, consider disassembling it, cleaning it, replacing springs only if needed, reassembling it, and reinstalling it. This can save you money making it almost free.

I removed mine just to check the condition. 112K miles now and internals of the sensor look new. I just reassembled it and put it back.

I installed this Dorman part on 2/7/19 (05 LS430) and can confirm it works fine so far. I couldn’t find it for less than $125 at a place I’ve used before or Amazon. Autozone had it shipped to my local store within three days. My local Lexus store wanted $758 for the whole job and $519 for the OEM part. Another dealer offered $389 for the part.

Hi guys, my AFS light has started blinking like crazy, but it only does it occasionally. I had read this thread and went under my '05 LS430. I got shocked when I saw that the rear sensor is hanging on wires because the bracket rusted out and broke. Does any of you, who has changed the entire assembly, have this rear bracket sitting on a shelf in a garage by chance?
