Default Restored headlight lenses .....not bad

Finally got around to cleaning up my headlight lenses. They were not that bad but had scratches on the top part of the lens......the pics look like trick photography....I think the flash made it look worse then actual.......well anyway it makes it look like I did a good job so im fine with the pics. Anyway I used the 3m headlight kit.....it is the kind that attaches small pads to your drill starting from the most aggressive sanding pad and work towards a wet sand....then compound...then finish sealer/wax.....uv protectant...........for the most part it is very easy....it was my 3rd time using this kit so I wasnt freakin out or anything like the first time. My complaint is that they are not clear about how fast to spin the drill or how often to wipe the residue......I used a medium speed with light to medium pressure...im not sure if faster would have better results...but I didnt want to heat up my light lens w friction so I stuck to medium. My results were not perfect.....the lens looks great from a few feet away but up close u can see the fine scratches.....I tried to compound them out by hand but couldnt get them do disappear. I read EXTR3MES thread and results....its possible that if I applied a clear coat that all of the fine scratches would be filled and look perfect like his does.....my car lives in the garage....no need for the clear coat....in my case just used the suppliedRestored headlight lenses .....not bad-headlres1234.jpg

This is what I use to protect mine. Works well. I have read that clear coat is not that great for sealing headlights as it can reflect light at the lens. Yours definitely needed it.
