Minty '03- how much to pay
My grandmother's friend has a mint '03 LS430. 44k mi, looks like a new car in and out. Garage kept and dealer maintained. It still has the "Leather" tag hanging from the passenger seat. I've known her my whole life. She can no longer drive and the other day said she wanted to sell it to me for whatever I thought was fair. I want to make sure she gets a fair price. Based on NADA Guide I was thinking ~15000. I have no Lexus knowledge. Any help appreciated.

Do you know what options the car has, or can you find out? Do you know if all maintenance is up to date?
$15000 is going to be on the high end of the car's value but if it's truly mint and all maintenance is up to date it's in the ballpark.

No NAV means base/premium package - some folks feel that is desirable becuse NAV is long ago obsolete...others don;t want base and feel NAV is desirable. Time will tell as the NAV units get older and older.
Autotrader estimates highest value at $12,900 for a private party sale in mint condition. Wholesale trade is likely $8,000-9,000. Given it is a base/premium package, I'd offer 11,900 for the car if it is truly minty. You may need to TB/WP just based on years of age if it has not been done recently...plan on $1500 cost for that. Check the dates on the Michelin tires to make sure they are not outdated even if they look new with lots of tread. If tires are 6-7+ years old they should be carefully checked and possibly replaced...that is another $750 cost. Check the spare tire also it may be 13 years old and dry rotted to point of not being usable...or it may be fine.

NADA Clean Retail is $15,487, clean trade in is $14,362.
KBB lists Private Party Value at $8831.
Edmunds list Private Party Value at $10,654.
The challenge with these cars, as when I bought mine, was that the prices are all over the place. If you took the average of the four the price is $11,968, which I think is a very good price for a mint, 44,000 mile LS430.

Thanks for the info. You had me at timing belt and water pump. I'm indifferent about the car. I will tell her what it's and worth so no one takes advantage and try to nicely decline.
