check engine light and now dead battery?
So Saturday morning I drove to the bank and when I got there the check engine light came on. So I drove home and let it sit. I opened my car yesterday to get my glasses and everything was ok. This morning I went to unlock the car with my viper alarm and nothing. Then used the key alarm and nothing. So I used the key to unlock the car. Tried to start it and it was completely dead.
It's a 2001
I do have a system in the car a ppi 280 amp and and a kicker l7. I had the battery replaced about 5 months ago do to a faulty amp not turning off.

How many miles? I replaced the alternator on my '01, wished I'd done it sooner. Will the car start if you jump it or charge the battery with a battery charger? If so, I'd have the alternator checked for output. It's probably your alternator.
