Default Wax On Wax Off

Anyone ever wax their front winshield with automotive car wax?

Wonder how well it would repel water and how long it would last?

i do it to my 86mr2 and it works great, repels good and the wipers glide across very quietly.my ls430 has a compound that repels the water made into the glass.if it didnt i would put wax on it as well.
as for how long it last my mr2 isnt a daily driver so i cant answer that.try it ,isnt going to harm anything.

I use Klasse All-in-one on my 2004 LS430 for the past several years. I use it on all exterior surfaces of the car including paint, glass, chrome, and rubber trims. It's a very easy wipe-on/wipe-off operation with no waiting, and it repels rain water on the windshield very nicely. I reapply the stuff once very 6-8 weeks.

car wax is not for windows. it is supposed to make night driving much worse. but if you want to wax them go ahead and let me know how wrong I am about this.

As long as you remove the wax properly waxing your windows will not impair your night driving.

Try "clay bar" on your windshield (glass). Leaves it as smooth as a baby's booty.

He means buffing off the wax to remove all the residue.

I'm personally not a big fan, I've used the Rain-X line before. It can sometimes be tough to get the wax coating on there but remove enough of it so you don't have any haze. And it eventually comes off anyway in the car wash.

I think a good pair of wipers is the better way to beat the rain, but then again, I live in a dry state and don't have the issue that some people do.

I thought the LS-430 front glass was manufactured with a special water repellant treatment from the factory. How long could something like that last in the real world I wonder.
