NEED HELP - LS won't start - electrical issue
I've been dealing with this issue since I got the car and it seems to be getting worse so I'd like to take care of it now instead of having to put it on a tow truck later. The LS almost always starts on the first try but occasionally I get a click noise with no start (starter/motor not turning). If I persistently try to start the car, eventually it will start, but just recently it took about 40 tries. The starter and battery have been replaced in the last two years. The car experiences other common electrical issues such as the mirrors not adjusting and the autodim not working on the rear view. I tried searching but couldn't find much when I got specific enough with it. I'll be happy to find out what needs to be done (as long as I don't need a new engine wiring harness). Thanks in advance and sorry if I suck at searching and this is a common problem. I took it to a non-dealer repair shop and the mechanic basically threw his hands in the air and told me to take it to the dealer. Besides the mirrors, the only other electrical issue I've noticed is that the car will occasionally warn me of a tail lamp failure but this message always disappears in < 10 seconds

you can do a load test on the nav screen,if not do a load test with a volt meter.or have a load test done by a tech.

What I would do is get a circuit diagram and find out if there is a common junction that all of these problems originate. I remember similar problems caused by an ecu in the tail light of the vehicle. The seals of the tail light wear out and allow moisture in and the ecu gets waterlogged. Does it get worse with bad weather? Maybe someone can post the circuit diagrams corresponding to the relevant problems you are having. I know there is one user here that has everything ( starts with an r)

05 LS430 Dead battery syndrome
My experience might not match your problem, so disregard if that's the case.
270k miles on car

Dead battery syndrome for 2 years. Toyota replaced combo controller which drew heavily on battery at operating temp. Problem solved--for several months.Tried indy mechanic. Very thorough. Found no parasitic draws. Tested many components, removing each for a separate, component only test apart from the vehicle environment. Examined all fuses. Nothing.By chance he found a wiring harness behind the engine with a worn wire--contact friction. Repaired wire, secured harness away from engine. Also found on/off switch under dash. Flipped off.Unfortunately both these were done together. One or both seem to have fixed problem. Finished last week of March, 2017. So far, so good.
