P0430-Cat Efficiency Bank 2
Hello,
Which side is the bank 2 cat on the exhaust? I'm getting this alarm a lot and the car is louder than normal. I suspect a crack in the exhaust as this is a common problem on this car. Just want to tell the mechanic where to look.
Thanks!

I continuously have this error code pop up. Like you said, it's most likely a small hole in the exhaust pipe. I took mine to an exhaust shop and they welded a small hole shut which seemed to help for a few months, but it's back. My next step is probably to replace the entire Y pipe assembly.
It could also be a bad O2 sensor.

It could be a small leak, but a catalytic converter with a lot of miles can just become "inefficient" enough over time that it triggers a code and requires replacement to get it back in spec.
I had a similar code and had an exhaust shop that I trust check it out and not find any leaks.
Instead of replacing the factory cats, I just put one of these "extenders" on and never had another issue with the code. I got mine off of Ebay, but it was more of an angled one that could be rotated in order to fit since the exhaust is close to the body. I just grabbed these images online.
The purpose of that sensor is basically for state emissions testers to see if the catalytic converter is in spec and working properly, a "pass/fail" sensor. It's not going to effect engine operation.
