Default First ls430 ul

I'm looking at upgrading from my GS300 I love it, but I need something a little bigger. I looked at an 01 this weekend and it has the famous radio amp problem I believe. it wont turn on from the front controls but the ones in the rear seat will turn it on but it plays no sound with the exception of a second or so every now and then. Other than that everything else works from the front sprayers to the rear seats. Is there any other things I should look at before i make an offer. I don't know if this matters hes asking 6500 because of the radio and needing tires. It currently has 138k on the odo and carfax shows its clean with all of its maint up till 111,000 performed at Lexus.

Check the air-shocks for signs of hydraulic fluid leakage and obvious rattles.

+1 on checking out the suspension, but If there's no other issues and it's otherwise a clean car, it's definitely a fair deal at $6,000 or cheaper.

You're probably looking at little over a $1,200 total for new tires and a repaired amp.

The big "X factor" is condition, if it's a garaged car that's been taken care of, to me that's more important than getting absolute bottom dollar.

I have a 01 LS430 UL 220K Blk,Blk, we bought 2nd hand from the local dealer. No real major complaints other than the costs to repair at a dealer is high. Seems like everything is around 1k. Don't let that deter you, I would buy another one, they are just too rare of a find. We had a LS400 prior, and was happy with that one too. Reach out to me if you would like to find out more.

Default If you realy need all the toys, get a UL

I have a really nice 02 UL, silver, black, rosewood, 93,000. It's been maintained perfectly, and it is waxed, cleaned, etc. However, I fell in love with all the toys, and I am now paying the price. Two of my struts are leaking, and one bladder is leaking. If I fix the problem with air, I am looking at big bucks. The alternative is converting to springs and coils.

If I were looking at an LS430 today, I'd go after a ML or CL. I'd leave a UL alone.

well its only big bucks if you buy new air struts. Look around and buy a pair used, you really ought to be able to find an acceptable pair for less than $400 and maybe a couple hundred to install... That's what I did and no regrets.
