Default Buying an 04 ls430

Purchasing a silver on black ls430, 138k nav/ML, smart access, any things I should look for, one speaker and the subwoofer have been replaced, 90k service timing belt water pump, seals, one catalytic converter changed at Lexus. Any issues with these cars I should look for?

Any idea how much that would cost if it wasn't done? Didn't see it in the history I don't think, car shifted fine though.

Check for rust everywhere
Nothing will cost you more than rust repairs

Areas: under door edge, trunk edge, hood edge, above trimline in the center of driverdoor (Toyota mistake) undercarriage, rusted heightsensors, linkages

Check the condition of the suspension. An ML usually doesn't have the air suspension (avoiding a big potential problem) but it can need some work if it hasn't been serviced. I personally wouldn't buy any used car in the Rust Belt. Way too many rust derived problems. Take a vacation to Texas, Arizona, California or Florida. I know an excellent and honest broker in Dallas if you don't want to travel (ecarhouse.com). I've bought 7 vehicles over the last 10 years and they have all been as nice as a new car - and cheaper. He adds $1000 plus the auctioned vehicle invoice. I had bought 3 or 4 Rust Belt area cars prior to this - never again.

This info is on the forum many time over....but I often have a hard time using search so I will throw u a bone as others have done for me.....I purchased my 04 w 130k on it for $11,500 or 11,900 I cant rememeber now....things to look for

Check and listen to every single stereo speaker especially the sub

Note if sub was replaced make darn sure it was replaced with OEM or aftermarket sub will burn up your amp...this is what happened to me. A new amp and sub are expensive!!!!!

check to see that every door lock lever flips...u need to see it visually....actuators known to fail

check all mirror functions....also note they are supposed to tilt down in reverse

check steering wheel for tilt AND telescope

check console lid to see if loose

check hood and trunk shocks to see if they hold hood and trunk in up position

check headlight aim...and auto headlight features

also check records for expensive maint items......but need to be done

tranny fluid drain and fill
spark plug change
tranntyTSB for shifting
timing belt water pump......u said done
oil
air filter
o2 sensors
cat converter......tail lights all on? They are LED very expensive

great cars.......really....but once over 100k the gadgets around the great car start to act up making this a great car for the DIYer....

good luck with your purchase
