Two timing belts done at Lexus - stickers on engine cover both times.

I called the service advisor at the Lexus dealer I bought the car. He couldn't find any information on the timing belt but said if it had been done there would be a sticker under the hood (which I found).

What's unfortunate is you don't know: the mileage at which it was changed, and you don't know if the hydraulic belt tensioner and other internals were replaced as well as the water pump. If they bought the complete Aisin kit (#TKT-021), then all of the internals, including belt tensioner and water pump were replaced. If they bought the Aisin TKT-001, then everything except the tensioner was replaced. Hopefully, they didn't just replace the timing belt.

So if that is the timing belt sticker that all Lexus service departments use then if the timing belt was changed on my Lexus it wasn't done at the Lexus dealer.

That makes sense why the advertisement said that the timing belt was done. The service techs looked under the hood and noticed the sticker and relayed that information to the service advisor.

Your sticker looks similar, but as I said in post # 22 above, your sticker is a Mitsubishi belt sticker, not Aisin, which may mean that only the timing belt was replaced, possibly no other internal parts. Check out the parts in Aisin timing belt kit TKT-021 (below). Don't mean to scare you, but if any of those other internal timing belt-related parts fail, the result could be a destroyed engine. Is there any way you can contact the prior owner?

I've changed timing belt components before so I can be certain that anything was changed.
The fact that the sticker was under the hood before the car was traded in gives me a better feeling that at least the timing belt was changed.
The Aisin TKT-021 timing belt kit does have a Mitsubishi belt so the sticker saying Mitsubishi makes sense.
If the water pump wasn't changed I hope I have warning enough (temperature gauge) before catastrophic failure. It's not like if the timing belt goes and you have no warning.

the stickers I have seen all looked like Tom57. your sticker says Mitsuboshi, not Mitsubishi. Mitsubishi makes belts. Mitsuboshi makes a kit that is a little cheaper than the Asin kit on ebay. I would be very concerned, but if you can do it all anyway, no big deal. just so you know what you are saving, 90,000 mile service started at $1,100. called back to add waterpump for $350. total was about $1,556.

That's the first time I noticed that spelling.
I did notice that in the kit the water pump is an Asin.
