They came down to 9k on the car but I passed because it just didn't feel right.
Thanks for the advice I think I'll look for a non UP Ls430 or even an ES. I owned a GS350 Awd and I hated it, I couldn't stand getting in and out with that low roof line, so that's not an option.
Did you say in the first post that you already bought it?

Personally I wouldn't buy a used Lexus unless it came from a Lexus dealer.

Now I know that comes with its pros and cons but I got the car for 10,000.00 and It got run through the dealers shop and checked out, this is a big Toyota dealer not a small used car lot.

Lots of great used Lexus vehicles out there that aren't from Lexus dealers. You pay a huge premium at the dealer.

I think, for the most part, you get what you pay for.

I actually completely disagree. I've been around Lexus and Lexus dealers for a long time. Theres a common conception that somehow dealer and CPO cars are "better" or "more legitimate", but in my many years on Lexus forums I have seen PLENTY of CPO and non CPO Lexus dealer sold used cars that have been in non disclosed accidents, had shoddy fixup work done, had title issues.

Lexus makes a lot of money by propagating this idea that a CPO car is some very special thing, and only certain cars can be CPO, but IMHO you're better off finding a good car that you can verify the history of and buying a warranty.

I would expand your search to include custom luxury versions. You can tell by the headlamp washers, but no suspension buttons on the center console. UL's aren't bad, and members have had good luck with the suspensions. I really wish I had side sun shades and the rear seat controls, but I need a pass through in the rear seat and also didn't want to risk air suspension.

Yes. I thought I had included, "if you're willing to wait."

absolutely do not get a ES. Its a good thing you passed on that one it kind of seemed like a lemon, and a lot of them are, given the age. keep on looking for the perfect LS man, dont settle for a ES.

Side note: TONNES of great information regarding the age old UL non-UL argument in this thread.

That's funny you said that because initially we were looking at the ES300 and ES350 but after driving a LS400 I immediately changed my mine.

The ES is a very nice car. Its not as nice as the LS, but you can get a newer one for the same money, they're cheaper to fuel, insure, and maintain. If you're not comparing it to the LS all the time the ES is a great car.
