Changing HID ballast
Does anyone have tips or tricks for swapping hid ballasts? I had no problem pulling the old one out but I can't get the socket on the new one routed through the headlight to the projector. It's just too tight in there.
I did a search but none of the threads really had an answer.
Thanks for any help

Do you have the headlight assembly pulled out? If so there should be plenty of room. I have a 2002 LS430 and when I had to replace mine, most DIY's said you had to remove the bumper to get the headlight assembly out. Some said there a bolt under the light assembly that you may get to by pushing the bumper down. For me this wasn't the case. On my car, there where 3 or 4 bolts to remove attaching the top of the headlight assembly to the car. Once removed, I took the palm of my hand and gave the headlight a good whack towards the center of the car and the whole assembly just popped out. There was a post and grommet hidden that holds the outside portion of the assembly in line and in place.
I replaced both on mine in about 30 - 45 minutes.
