Hood and Trunk shocks

I think it took me less than 5 minutes to replace both trunk shocks. Since you can replace one shock at a time there is no need to support the trunk lid unless both existing shocks are completely shot.
Now my trunk doesn't close at a free fall.

Just received these shocks in today.

Right now, after i "push trunk button" I have to take two hands and LIFT the trunk

I think it is the design. The trunk lid is fairly heavy and even with new struts the lid does not pop open and lift on it's own and it has to be raised....
When you close it, it should not crash down but settle before the motor grabs it.
