Default dashboard

does anybody have a diagram of the dashboard interior?
I have a rattle in the dash that sounds like a plastic rod or a stiff cable (antenna??)hitting something. Occurs only when going over a rough road or bump
Lexus dealer is guessing there was a bulletin out but could not confirm.
To duplicate the sound take a pencil or even your fingernail and gently tap the table edge.
How could you look into the dash? Any way to take something off from the front of the climate control face without taking the whole dash out (big $)?

Whereabouts in the dash does it sound like it's coming from? There's several threads on here detailing how to remove everything in the middle from the shifter up to the dash pad.

The only bulletin I found about "Ticking Noise" around the dashboard is this one...

thank you very much
it is definitely a starting point
the rattle comes from the topsection of the dash above the vents or somewhere above the radio.

If I take the bezel around the vents/radio off would I be able to look into the dash or are the vents/radio enclosed in a "box"?

You can take that off and look around. Not too hard. There are good posts on this. Basically the console comes off first then work your way up. When you do that you might try gently stuffing rags in the dash to see if that makes the noise quit.

thanks for the tip. It looks taunting.
The noise is a rattle as if some of the braces are loose. I got an inside diagram of the inner parts of the dash.
Will see how this goes
Looks like the audio system and the dash vent system need to be removed.
