Bad camera or bad camera ECU?

Has anything changed in the camera display status ? Completely black now ? sometimes see image with lines still ? Maybe some software / firmware issue with the video circuit. Have you tried disconnecting the battery and reconnecting after a minute or so ?

"When shift lever is in "R", rear view image is not displayed (Screen is black)"
Suspected area: 1) Display signal circuit (Television Camera Assembly-Television Camera ECU)
2) Television Camera assembly
3) Television Camera ECU
I had already suspected 2 or 3 as I said in initial post.

Nothing has changed with car. Worked one day and not the next.

If your navigation system is not also working (no display) I would check the 7.5 amp fuse for the TV ECU located at the fusebox in left side of the trunk. The navigation ECU signaling go through the Camera / TV ECU. This supplies 12V to the unit.

Navigation works just fine.

And yes, that's an important detail I omitted. It's a 2004 UL

Yes, I did that. It essentially just turns the camera "ON". And of course, the screen was just black..though I did have a flicker or two.

I guess than the problem lies with the camera and / or the cabling / connectors. If you can remove the connector at the camera side (4 pins) you could take some voltage measurements on the connector from the ECU wire harness. You can check if the 12 V (or may be 6V) is received at the socket for the camera. I believe the pinouts were posted in earlier responses.
