LED license plate light assembly install
I've searched all over the forums and I see lot of threads on installation of led bulbs but I couldn't find anything on how to remove the actual housing. I have my trunk liner apart and I'm able to see two tabs holding the license plate light assembly in. But I don't see how that small of an opening will allow it to come out. I also don't see a big enough opening on the outside of the trunk for the housing to be pushed out. What am I missing here? Any help would be appreciated.

Squeeze the tab inward (I believe it's the right side tab in pic # 2) and the light housing comes out. You may want to first disconnect the wire into the light assembly to avoid damage.

I figured that part out. One tab squeezes and the other is stationary. My confusion is, do i squeeze and push the housing out or pull it in? I've tried squeezing that tab and moving it, but it barely budges. I just don't see how the assembly will pull through that small cut out.

You have to remove the plastic part that has the chrome stripe on it.
You wil see from inside the trunk, 2 hex nuts on each corner of this plastic part. You will need a 10 mm with an extension since the hex nuts are screwed very deep.
If you don't have a handy extended 10 mm, use a long nose plier, should be able to take this plastic piece off, giving you full access to replace those modules.

It's actually not blinding at all. They are definitely much brighter than the usual LED bulbs, But the reflection off the plates makes it look blinding through the camera. Pictures don't do justice. The light points downward and illuminates the entire plate. I doubt anyone would get pulled over for this.
