Door popping on 2001 ls430

I SEE MANY THREADS ON THIS SUBJECT BUT THEY ARE NEVER MY TYPE OF DOOR HINGE.

WHEN I OPEN THE DRIVERS DOOR IT POPS ON THE THREE STAGES OF THE DOOR CHECK STRAP.

IS THE PROBLEM IN THAT STRAP OR SOME THING ELSE

yeah that part is called a door check. its pretty common problem on alot of cars.

Put some grease on it and see if that sound goes away. If not then you have to replace the part.

Not sure if it's the same as my 2000, but I've fixed the popping by removing the black plastic cover and tightening the bolts that are hiding underneath.
