Default Seat pad replacement

Ok I read all the blogs about these terrible seats so I'm going to try and have the entire bottom pad redone. I want to try a totally different padding and have it built up very firm. What you guys think?

Let us know the cost. My seats are starting to feel aged and flat as well.

Mine is way too firm already. I would want it much softer.

It would be nice to find a "built" lower cushion with the pad and stitching already done. Then it can be clipped in with the hog rings and be done. I know it's available for Mercedes this way. Has anyone seen a Lexus "kit" like this? I have to think this would be cheaper than a hand built replacement at an auto upholstery shop.

i'd also be quite interested in this....a much softer seat pad. The seats on my lx470 are far superior in this area.

So... begs the question, can you just drop the LX470 seat pads into the LS430?

never thought of that....but upon inspection they are quite differently shaped. Still, maybe you could trim the foam to fit or something.

the problem with the LS seats seems to be that the foam collapses over time, or it feels that way, such that there is no give or springiness to the seat.

I had the top piece of foam replaced by an interior company as it was flat and hard when I got it. It did the trick. Feels great with the right balance of firm and soft.

Default Seat pad

Here's a update on seat pad. I was unsure about the firmness so I went to walmart and bought a seat cushion with memory foam in it I'm going to try this for a while for comfort and decide on the correct firmness!

I am looking at replacing the front passenger pad before I do my driver's seat to see if helps any. I've come across 2 part numbers online at Lexus South Atlanta. They are:
7151150140
and
7151150160

When I look on mylparts.com the 60 part looks like the standard with a diagram and all, but the 40 part doesn't. any idea what the difference is?

I looked at that page and the proper item seemed to be the: http://mylparts.com/parts/2004/Lexus...&siteid=214992
Cushion Cover with Climate Control for $1006 in various colors. That's way too expensive. I vote for upholstery shops. I'm concerned your pad is just that. A foam pad used inside a seat with one for cooled seats and one for regular seats.

Thats for the entire seat bottom including new seat leather. It shouldnt be necessary if your leather is good.
