Excellent advice and checking procedure.

A few years ago I started changing the power steering fluid in all my cars after about 70,000 miles. Syphon out from the reservoir and replace with Mobil 1 synthetic ATF. Go to a power steering line near the bottom of the chassis, preferably one of the cooler lines. Disconnect and drain with the car started and running for about 30 seconds. replace and fill reservoir with Mobil 1. Has always made a difference.
