Lightbulb 1G IS300 to LS400-LS430 switch.. should I?

Hey everybody I just wanted some advice...

I recently posted my 1g IS300 for sale for 9500 and I have got a lot of serious inquires.. I was thinking of selling my IS300 to make the switch over to a LS430. I originally bought the IS300 thinking i'll keep it as a daily driver forever lol. It currently has 73k miles and is truly a gem. (original paint, all service records, etc.) The car is in great shape and I am confident that it will go for another 150-200k miles with no problems.

My question is can I find a lower mile LS430 for around 10k? Is the upkeep difficult? Is the powertrain as reliable as my IS300? and lastly should i make the switch?

That's a big switch. Obviously you have something small and sporty that handles great. The LS is obviously a lot bigger, not as sporty and does not handle great. It has a lot of power but some will say it is a boring car. It floats like a boat, which can be good or bad. Depending on your taste.

Truthfully the more thought I give it the more I i start to lean toward keeping the IS300. I was hoping you guys would give me more insight or even change my mind.

If you think you can actually get that much for your IS300, I would cash out, as that's about double what they normally go for.

I agree. Even with low miles I see them for around 6-7. If you can sell it for 9, take it and run. You can easily upgrade to a 2nd gen IS

9.5K?!?! Take the money and run. I had a clean title 6 speed manual with 100k miles and all maintenance and I was able to sell it for 7k.

The LS is as reliable and maybe more reliable than the IS. Upkeep is easy and I do most of my work except for timing belt. Do realize the engine and transmission cost a lot more to replace than the IS.

I love my LS. It's perfect for me to cruise to work and home. It's great and relaxing in traffic. Keeps my blood pressure down and I feel no rush.

Don't get me wrong as my second car is a Lotus Elise so I am definitely into sports cars too. If I commute with the Lotus, I'd want to cut everyone off and drive fast.

If I only had one car, I'd keep the IS because it's pretty balance for everything you'd want in a car.

Would it be possible to find a good condition LS430 for 12,500?
