What are your thoughts on buying from a dealership?

We have had our '01 430 since 2004 and with the wife getting a 460 I get the 430 as my "new" daily. All I can say is that it is the best car I have ever driven and a joy in my 135 mile round trip commute.

The car is not UL but it does have NAV and ML. I added a cheap FM transmitter so I can play Pandora and other streaming services played on the car's audio system so not missing anything in that space.

Find a 430 you like and you will never regret it - even if you have to pony up repairs like timing belt or water pump it will still be way better than a "newer car".

They will usually charge more for their reconditioning and service. Although I sometimes find that they have better deals than these crooks on Craigslist asking an arm and leg for their cars, in general, not just the LS430. And if you do go thru dealer...its best to go a franchise dealer. Non franchise dealers/mom pops dealership sometimes don't recondition the car or make it road safe. Sometimes they just buy it from the auction and post it straight up with bald tires, bad brakes, etc

Thanks for all the help so far guys. I'll be patient on this one.. should I be afraid for cars over 125k+ miles?

If its been well maintained, I wouldn't worry.

Even at 170-180 I'd be comfortable. I've owned a few Lexus with 200+ that ran better than many other cars with lower miles. That's why I'm never leaving the Lexus line up.
