Dreaded Tail Lamp Failure Lamp
The upper lamp on the left side has decided to quit working… Bulb tested with good continuity on multi-meter and in another socket. Tested voltage at the socket with multi-meter, nada, nothing, zip.
Just hoping that someone can point me in the right direction to start chasing this down or has ran into this one before. Would really like to get the warning lights off of the dash.
Thanks
Steve

The issues most of us have been having are with the LED tail lamps on the later models. Yours is an earlier model with the conventional bulb.
One thing you might want to look at, I had an older ES and a failing bulb. I would replace the bulb and same problem. I put it on a multimeter and it wasn't showing enough voltage.
Turned out, the socket itself needed replacement. It was detachable from the harness. Even a cleaning didn't do the job, I had to replace the entire socket where the bulb slipped in and then the problem was solved.
Not sure if yours is set up that way, but you may want to look. I believe over the years corrosion develops.

Ya, should have put this part in the original post... 2001 Base with 221,000 miles
Good thought, I will go further back on the wiring harness and check voltage, eliminating the socket...... It will be nice if it's that simple.....
Thanks for the input.....
