what is this in the trunk ?

I can't tell from picture if you have it in there or its empty, but you should have a small, flat toolbox in there. It slides right out. If you just have the spring loaded flap there, then tool box is missing. It has a wrench, screw driver, Phillips screw driver, and the wrench for the wheel nut.

Yeah, it looks like you're missing the tool kit.

Here's an unused example on eBay;

I guess it depends on how bad you want to complete the car.

I think the special key for the wheel lock nuts os the most important.
If your wheels have this security feature and you have never changed the tires you might have a problem
It is possible to remove the special nut but in the process you might ruin the stud.
Also remember there are 4 on the car

They usually are... I've seen a few of these on eBay and it always seems the flashlight is gone. I ended up buying a doctor's pocket flashlight that uses 2 AAA's. I think it was maybe 5 bucks from Chickety China. My kit is now complete and I'm happy...
My 2005 LS had the complete kit AND it still has that thin foam sheet placed inside for shipping. The flashlight is still wrapped in plastic, and the batteries are wrapped as well...
I'm sure the lady who owned the car never even looked at that kit...

lug wrench is a joke. would suggest 21mm socket and breaker bar. wheel locks add to problem. lug nuts are most likely too tight. with backdoor open I had to stand on the handle and jump to loosen. flashlight was no help at all.

That flashlight is just for decoration. I've got a Streamlight rechargeable flashlight wired into each of our cars. Works beautifully
A short length of pipe that will fit over the factory lug wrench is a great help.
