2004 LS430 Tail Light replacement
So I have a LS430 with the integrated LED tail lights. I've watched as my bulbs have slowly gone out one by one until I barely have any that are still functional. So now I am faced with replacing all 4 light assemblies. 2 on the quarter panels and the 2 on the trunk lid itself. Enough lights are out that it's getting to the point that I think it's a safety issue so I can't ignore it.
I'm curious if anyone knows of any cheaper solutions? Any where I can send these tail lights to be rebuilt or non-oem assemblies that are more affordable?
Thanks!

Just did this on the trunk mount lights. EASY JOB!! Do not go to the dealership to do this. You CAN do it!! 3-10mm screws, 2 plugs and done. 15 minutes at most. Get the light for $158 with free shipping from @Bell Lexus , then get 1 10mm socket screwdriver and go for it. There is a rubber gasket inside that you may or may not have to replace. I think it is $8 or something. Mine was fine.
I personally am not a fan of buying used electrical parts, but they are on ebay for $50 or $60, so there is a solid argument that you could replace 3 for the price of one, but I just preferred 'one and done'.

I see you didn't ask how to unscrew and replace the light assemblies, or where to buy used taillight assemblies with burned out LED bulbs. I am having the same problem you asked about - my LED bulbs are going dead one-by-one. I'm not interested in buying more used light assemblies with more burned out LEDs, nor curious how to unscrew the assemblies. Did you ever get an answer to your questions? Are there any repairs available for burned out LEDs or strips? Are there any aftermarket (NEW) replacement options?

I have seen some "custom" aftermarket LED assemblies in Japan but not elsewhere.
I have never seen any aftermarket LED assemblies that look like the OE ones.
Your choices are pretty much either new or used assemblies. Your $ your choice.
There have been a couple of people who have disassembled and repaired their assemblies, but it's a fiddly job and requires some electronics skills.

Doesn't seem to make a whole lot of sense to buy the tail lights used as they pretty much all inherently burn out and have to be replaced. Best to bite the bullet and just buy new and get it over with. It’s funny, but here in Florida, I see a number of 04-06 LS430s driving around with defective tail light assemblies but very few 2001-2003s with the bulbs out. I guess once the owners of the 04-06s (who might be the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th owner) find out the cost...they try to get by and wing it.

I would also drop the cash to do new replacmenets, there is a thread out there where someone is trying to repair his old lights and get them working again, you can search for that if you are handy.
