There's a lot of talk about air suspension on here but not what I am wondering.. First, am I supposed to hear the loud loose rumbling of the air pump? Second, if it "goes out" will my car fall to the ground like those funny looking Lincolns? And third, how would I know if a front hub assembly needed replacement? Would it definitely be noticeable or is it a small irritating hum tone with very very little vibration? Wouldn't I hear a loud roar or something?

 

if your strut develops an air leak i suppose it would collapse but not the pump....those don't leak. Nor have i heard of them failing or making a rumbling as you're describing.
