Read this thread too ... it could be a wire connector to the sensor. > https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-...or-hack-2.html
When looking over the motor, where do the cables for the Knock sensor come out ? Maybe they got damaged or something maybe I can see something by looking enternally at them.

I'd get a quote from an Indy dealer too. 8 hours is probably the book time; can be done in less time. $140/hr. is dealer rate. Check if that Toyo dealer offer discounts - ex. 10% off coupon on their website?

I think that if that's what they charge then that is what it costs. Dealers have a lot of overhead to cover. An independent shop should be a little cheaper. Cheapest yet is diy.

8 hours ? OMG ! Does anyone have the part of the service manual where it lists step by step on replacing a Knock sensor/cables ? Sure it could be a bad cable but, it still looks like I have to pull the car apart to find a possible break in the cable.

Here is a pic of the drivers side knock sensor.
The passenger side is under the water bypass pipe. The wiring goes out the back of the v by the starter and then goes around the back of the drivers side cylinder head. The wires are in the engine harness that then goes forward through the valley where the intake and cylinder head meet. It then travels from the front of the drivers cylinder head to the drivers side inner fender. It is inclosed in plastic corrugated loom and held to the intake with 10mm bolts and a plastic cover.

Thanks for the image and understanding on where the cables are. Following it back against the firewall, found some cables that some might say that were loose but, still connected. I tightened everything up, reset codes and went for a ride.. it was fine for about 3 min and then the problem/CEL came back....
I guess what I need now is the find a copy of the service manual that gives the full listing on how to do this job, a little step by step so I can determine if I can do this job, or if it's time to start looking for another car. The car needs some other work and even a small shop gave me a quick estimate of about $1000 to do the job. Not sure about dumping another grand into a car with 227,000 miles on it...
sigh...it's always something...

Can anyone help with part numbers? This is what I have found and not sure if they are the correct part numbers. I found a family friend who works on cars and he said he would help me with it if I get the right parts. I wanted to make sure I order the right stiff.
TOYOTA / Lexus -Engine Intake Manifold Gasket Part # 17171-50020 (needing 2 of these)
Toyota/ Lexus Throttle Body-Gasket Part# 22271-50042
Toyota / Lexus Knock Sensor replacement Part # 89615-30080
And for the LIFE of me, I can not find the part number for the harness....or at least be 100% sure.

says it's a 82122 but, what is the rest of the part number ? Is it a 82122-30830 ? OR does anyone know for sure ?
I don't want to order the wrong parts as I have a limited budget right now and once the car comes apart, it needs to go back together that day with out spending extra money.
Thanks if anyone can help here !!!

If you check Lexus of South Atlanta, the full part number for the part shown in the picture "WIRE, ENGINE, NO.2 WIRE, ENGINE, NO.2", is 82122-50060.
