Default remote start question

I tried to get a remote start on my ls430 and the store told me they would need to leave one of my spare keys in my dash for the immobilizer to start the car. Does that seem correct? Than I'd only have 1 key! is there another way????? there has to be

That seems to be correct from reading up on the remote start option. I looked into the same thing around 2 years ago and that was the only way. Would love to see how some other guys did it on their LS430's

That is incorrect. You do not need to leave a key in the vehicle for it to work. There is a device that will learn the key and duplicates it being there when you remote start the car. I know, I have it in my 2006 LS430 right now. I have had remote start/alarms on my 3 Lexus cars and I did not want to have to leave a key in the vehicle in order for it to start. You may want to go to a different shop or installer and ask them about the module. If I can find the one I have or remember I'll post again.

All you need is an immobilizer.

I used a Directed Immobilizer bypass, but could not remember the number/model.

jbonez89, that is all you need. The immobilizer bypass, directed makes them and are relatively cheap. Just make sure the one you get will work with your vehicle and you'll be good to go.
